INVEST: You first will have to learn how to properly invest in your business. You have to feed your business the proper tools to make it grow and be productive. Other than your web presence, you have to have information and tools to present to prospects even when you are "offline". You will need to look professional before someone will take you seriously. Tools such as business cards, ads, brochures, and books are essential.
EDUCATION: Constantly be expanding your knowledge on your business. Reading is very important in this step. Whether this is studing your products, marketing ideas or people skills. If you have zero people skills, I guarantee that your business will sink faster than the Titanic. This is a people business. The first book that I read when getting started in business was "How to Win Freinds and Influence People."
Other than offline tools I also highly suggest having articles on network marketing of your own.
GO THE EXTRA MILE: As a busiess owner you need to go the extra mile. You need to be willing to serve your customers, and dowline with the attitude that you will do whatever it takes to help them succeed. Serving others will usually not be conveinent. Do not take action only when the time is right for you. It may not be great timing now, but when your checks start filling your mailbox you will probably be over it. There are many other examples that you can think of but this one is the most important. Serves others first!
PERSISTANCE: Be persistant and consistant. This is where your work ethic comes to play. Week after week you need to be reading, serving, talking to people, all of the aspects that will grow your business.
ACCOUNTABILITY: You have to be an accountable person. Develope the character that your word is your bond. If you say that you will be somewhere or do something you better do it. When you develope this and become accoutable people will be attracted to you. Now your downline can veiw you as someone that is a mentor and is leading by example.
CHANGE YOUR BUYING HABITS: Buying through your own business is critical. If you are not buying from yourself, but instead the "SuperMart" down the road then you are making a big mistake. Customers and potential business owners will not see the benefit of buying from your opportunity if you have this bad habit. Customers and downline will do about half of what your doing so, if you barely shop through yourself, they will buy the bare minimums! Set an example for others.
The bottom line is this. If you want to have a successfull business you must learn to treat it as such. Take it seriously and do not treat it like a hobby that you want to work on in your spare time. Here is another misconception, just because your initial start up fee was small does not mean that it is not a true business opportunity. It takes 1-2 million dollars to open a "Burger" restraunt. If you had to invest that much would you take it seriously? Well, there are Networkers making more income than traditional business owners and it only took about $200 bucks to start. Do not put a price tag on success.
